Hey everyone, I went on a guided tour to each of those cities and I was wondering if anyone would actually be interested in what I did.
Since it was completely free, paid for by the tourism department of Yamaguchi prefecture, I have to write a report saying how much fun I had, which they post on their website to lure in more tourists. (It was actually fun, but I exaggerate in my tourism reports because I'm pretty sure that's what they want me to do, I mean, they pay for my lunch, my trip and everything, the report is the catch.)
I'm about to finish the report about Yamaguchi city, so if anyone is interested I'll post both up and you can see what's on offer in Yamaguchi prefecture in terms of sight-seeing. Obviously there's a lot more available to you if you go by yourself but this should give you some ideas. I was on a guided tour so everything was decided before I went, times, meals, etc.
Let me know if you're interested. (Oh and the reports are in English, because they're trying to appeal to foreign tourists... not Japanese tourists)
